The first transnational meeting of the S.T.E.P. – Single-parent Training and Empowerment Program took place between February 26–29, 2024, in Sertã, Portugal, between the two partners of the project: Asociația Sprijin pentru Mame (Romania) and Cultiv – Associação de Ideias para a Cultura e Cidadania (Portugal).
During the days spent together, the project teams shared best practices from each organization, discussed the realities faced by single parents in Romania and Portugal, as well as the challenges of minorities and parents of children with special needs. They also reviewed a series of relevant studies related to the project’s theme and explored other initiatives dedicated to supporting single parents.

Cultiv Association organized a workshop and several hands-on activities, sharing with the Romanian partners the opportunity to experience their creative methods of working with adult beneficiaries.

In the final two days of the meeting, the whole team worked intensively on designing the theoretical part of the program, successfully outlining a structure organized into modules and sessions, which they continued to develop in the coming months.
