On Monday, May 12, 2025, the online conference for the dissemination of the results of the S.T.E.P. project – Single-parent Training and Empowerment Program – took place in Romania. The project was implemented by Asociația Sprijin pentru Mame from Romania in partnership with Cultiv – Associação de Ideias para a Cultura e Cidadania from Portugal.
📣 During the conference, we presented:
• The objectives and activities of the S.T.E.P. project;
• How the four online theoretical modules were designed and implemented;
• How the practical workshops were carried out in Romania (Sibiu, Alba Iulia) and Portugal (Samora Correia, Porto, Mafra), the techniques used by trainers, and the impact on the groups of participating parents;
• How efficient was the implementation of the program, both in Romania and Portugal, according to our internal study;
• Challenges and lessons learned from working with this vulnerable group.
✅ The concrete results of this project are:
• 1 blended (online and offline) socio-emotional education program for single parents;
• 1 online platform dedicated to the project: www.step-plus.com
• 1 adult training guide for specialized organizations – available online on the project platform;
• At least 40 single parents (20 from RO + 20 from PT) participated in the program, with a 30% increase in socio-emotional skills by the end of the project;
• 1 quantitative study on the development of socio-emotional skills among participating parents – available online on the project platform;
• 8 trainers from both countries participated in 2 transnational meetings, all showing a 50% increase in their ability to learn and use new adult education tools.
