The S.T.E.P. – Single-parent Training and Empowerment Program successfully advanced into its second phase in Romania during the period of September to December 2024, with practical workshops held in Sibiu and Alba Iulia. These sessions aimed to enhance the socio-emotional skills of single parents, offering them valuable tools for personal development and effective parenting.
In Sibiu, the group met every Thursday and explored topics from the program’s first educational module, including self-awareness, personal values, self-esteem, and daily life management. Throughout the 12 sessions, a supportive and engaging atmosphere was built, enabling participants to reflect deeply and connect meaningfully with one another. The connection between group members, mutual understanding, and compassion – especially the shared nature of their life circumstances—were key supportive factors that shaped the entire group process.

In Alba Iulia, the group gathered biweekly on Saturdays, following the 12 thematic areas of the program. Discussions around self-knowledge, personal strengths, self-esteem, and life management brought participants closer together, enabling them to share emotions and values in a meaningful and safe space. This collective experience allowed them to feel seen, valued, and supported as they reflected on their personal journeys.

Both groups reported significant progress, with participants making conscious steps toward deeper self-understanding and improved relationships. The workshops not only offered individual insights but also helped build a network of support among single parents, reinforcing a sense of belonging and community.
The program also included a comprehensive online theoretical component, available free of charge on the project’s platform. Participants were able to create accounts and access the four structured modules to complement the in-person sessions and continue their learning journey at their own pace.

As the S.T.E.P. program moved forward, it continued to uphold its mission of empowering single parents through education and community-building, cultivating spaces where both parents and children can thrive.
