Between October and December 2024, the S.T.E.P. – Single-parent Training and Empowerment Program moved into its second phase in Portugal, with in-person workshops successfully held in two cities: Samora Correia and Porto.
The first group of participants began their journey in Samora Correia, where the program kicked off with great enthusiasm. Organized by our partners from Associação de Ideias, the workshops provided a supportive and engaging environment where single parents could strengthen their socio-emotional skills, exchange experiences, and explore tools for more effective parenting.

Following this, the program was launched in Porto, where another group of parents came together to dive into the practical sessions. Hosted with the support of Centro de Vida Independente, the workshops in Porto brought to life the key themes of the online course, turning theory into shared reflection, connection, and empowerment.

In both cities, participants explored the challenges and strengths of single parenthood, guided by facilitators trained to foster dialogue, build confidence, and support personal growth. The sense of community and mutual understanding that emerged during the sessions stood as a clear testament to the transformative potential of the STEP program.
The practical component in Portugal marked a vital stage in the project, complementing the online modules available on the STEP platform and bringing families one step closer to resilience, balance, and meaningful connection.
